Your line "Writing's the only real divining rod I have in the best of times..." to which I would add, and, perhaps especially, in the worst of times--since you've often written yourself through and out of doldrums and stuckedness by delving into the layers of dense emotions with your fingertips, coming out, often, with equanimity, some understanding, a modicum of grace.
