What Ho, Gods Of The Abyss

rainspiritI think, eventually, I want to learn to write more spontaneously. But until then, I'm sharing what I've got.
This week has been L-A-Z-Y. It's somewhat of a regression to old, sad days in Vancouver where I scarcely left the house, but I have hardly been unhappy. Lots of games and books, but now I need to get it together and finish off the exams I deferred earlier in last month. And get my phone back, yes. Getting my phone back would be a good way of re-establishing contact with the world.
I've been re-reading Alan Moore's League of Extraordinary Gentlemen in the four volumes that have been published. Sometimes it's brilliant, while it's last two books are a bit too filled with antiquarian thrills for me to fully appreciate all the literary references. I do, however, think I'd love to take a crack at Arthur Conan Doyle's novels, and see what I've been missing up to this point.
Been eating well, for the most part. Not much in the way of meat, but I have a whole bag of granola and a bunch of cans of soup. Ravioli and tortellini in the fridge, salads and veggies in the cooler, as well as good old home-made family salad dressing. Made a terrible mistake with the bread I bought that I scarcely won't repeat, but other than that things are taken care of.
I have languished for a week with not much to show for it, and as the days get shorter I see much less of the daylight. Today I think I'd better do something about that - I need to write a few emails and get myself organized for one last venture. And then after that, free till the 22nd, in which I go off for holiday and come back on January 2nd. Back to school, and rehearsals...
I'm also thinking, next week, that I'd better get my computer and external hard drive checked out. My laptop's been getting pretty strange as my computer keyboard and case is slowly pulverised to destruction by my fingers, and the external hard-drive's all but given up the ghost, I'm afraid. Seems to start up, and then die, and start up repeatedly, leaving it impossible to back up any files. Terrible problem, especially since my files haven't been backed up in a long while...
So then, here's to getting my affairs in order. And here's to writing more regularly in this thing. Writing's the only real divining rod I have in the best of times...
